About the program

The DAMPER R3.1 program allows you to obtain the stiffness and damping characteristics of various types of hydrodynamic dampers. Two types of analysis are used. Analytical solution for “short” and “long” dampers under the assumption of a pi-film and 2-pi film, as well as a numerical two-dimensional finite-difference solution for dampers with different boundary conditions. Cavitation conditions – Reynolds condition. The method of oil supply (groove or holes) and their location are taken into account. The calculations are carried out assuming circular orbital movements of the shaft journal for a given eccentricity and for various speeds. The program allows you to design and calculate the stiffness properties of elastic bushings of the “squirrel wheel” type and elastic rings for use in centered dampers. Allows you to download examples of calculation of various hydrodynamic dampers and elastic elements. It is used at the early stages of designing elastic-damping supports, when, according to the dynamic characteristics of the rotor system, it is required to select the design of an elastic-damping support. Further verification of the dynamic characteristics of the designed elastic-damping support is carried out in the software system DYNAMICS R4. The DAMPER R3.1 program is accompanied by a user manual.
